I've improved my skills of drawing by learning what the vanishing point was and how to use it. Also by adding shading, sides of the buildings, and how to make a drawing look 3D. I went from curved streets and uneven ground to to a beautiful black and white 3D city.
I'd have to say that the most successful areas in my city was the shading, and possibly the buildings. I absolutely love the shading, because I feel that I put the shading and how my buildings look and fit together. I'm also very proud of my windows, because of their details and how straight they are.
I believe that the areas that are most unsuccessful was any other details.. such as the sky and ground. My original plan was to color the sky, make it bold. Something that I would do different next time would be maybe some coloring. Also more buildings and background items.
I do think that my city is a successful piece of art. I think this because of details and straightness. My lines are straight and my details include shading, windows, doors etc. When I look at my piece of art I truly believe that I could walk right into the picture.
